Saturday 12th October 2024 will provide an opportunity for deep listening and engagement with people locally who have been impacted by difficult life circumstances and through this to build empathy and support for their situation and inclusion in the community.
This year’s theme for Building Bridges through Story is Homelessness.
Homelessness is not randomly distributed across the population, but systematically structured around a set of identifiable individual, social, and structural factors; most of which are outside the control of those directly affected.
As a large and diverse community services organisation, Uniting has a unique insight into how compounding factors create pathways to housing insecurity and homelessness.
To understand the impact of homelessness, we must engage the voices of those with lived experience. This is an opportunity to hear from people with direct experience of homelessness and their perspective on the issues they faced.
